Calling the Lama from Afar
RigDzin Dharma Foundation is pleased to announce a winter teaching event with Khenpo Tsultrim, Friday, February 3rd through Sunday the 5th 2023. Khenpo will bestow the Samadhi Empowerment Friday evening, and provide two days of teachings on the precious prayer, “Calling the Lama from Afar”. You won’t want to miss this three day event! The empowerment and the prayer are each extremely profound and rich in meaning. Combined into one weekend event, and bestowed by the precious Lama Khenpo Tsutlrim, your Dharma practice is certain to flourish.

The Samadhi Empowerment is a method practice and introduces us to the bodhicitta mind of all the buddhas. Connecting with bodhicitta, our body and mind can ripen into the buddhas’ three kayas. Often referred to as a ripening empowerment, we are introduced to liberating instructions on how to engage in practice. With proper practice we may liberate ourselves. H.E. Garchen Rinpoche has said, “You must liberate yourself by actually engaging in practice”, and the Samadhi Empowerment is an excellent method. “Calling the Lama from Afar”, is both inspiring and instructive, a Guru Yoga woven into a prayer. In the practice of Guru Yoga we realize the Lama and the Buddha are inseparably connected, they are indistinguishable! This instructive text is found within the “4-Session Guru Yoga of Lord Jigten Sumgon”, by Nuden Dorje, and translated by Khenchen Konchog Gyaltsen. Simple and accessible to the novice, this excellent prayer is meaningful for advanced students as well. Recognized in the many Kagyu traditions for profundity and relevance – the opportunity for these authentic and profound instructions and practice is rare indeed.

While the RigDzin Dharma Center has partially reopened, we are limiting the number of on-site participants to 20. Our center is actively focused on providing a safe environment for the lama and sangha in attendance. Masks and social distancing are required for attendance. The empowerment and weekend teachings will be hosted on Zoom to benefit all!

In addition to the empowerment and teachings, Khenpo will host a Dharma study group on Monday and Tuesday evenings, and offer in-person interviews beginning 10AM and 2PM also on Monday and Tuesday. Read below for more details.
