Dharma Teachings & Practice
with
Ven. Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche
September 10th, 11th & 12th, 2023
In-person and Live on Zoom
Announcement
RigDzin Dharma Foundation is excited to announce our Summer Retreat with Venerable Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche, September 10th, 11th and 12th! Dorzin Rinpoche, resident lama of Drigar Thubten Dargye Ling in Singapore, last gave teachings at RigDzin in 2014, so we are profoundly blessed that he is able to find time in his busy schedule while in the USA to visit Albuquerque and give sublime dharma teachings!
Teachings
Dorzin Rinpoche will give commentary and reveal deeper meaning in the Seven Verses of Supplication to Tara. This profound prayer was composed by Lord Jigten Sumgon, founder of the Drikung Kagyu lineage, at the moment of his enlightenment. This devotional prayer supplicates Mother Tara, the great Protectress, to help remove seven specific mental obscurations that block the path to enlightenment.
The prayer encompasses the main points of the Buddhist Path and contains many blessings! Reciting the Seven Verses of Supplication to Tara and contemplating its meaning helps remove obstacles in our own practice, as well as for all sentient beings.
Practice
Dorzin Rinpoche will lead two deity yoga practices — Amitabha to help liberate all sentient beings and White Tara for world peace and the well-being of all sentient beings. Practicing Amitabha helps liberate all sentient beings of the six realms from suffering, and establishes them in the state of freedom and all-knowingness. According to the heart-pledge and extraordinary aspiration of Buddha Amitabha, by virtue of this practice all beings with whom practitioners have had a connection will be born in the pure land of Dewachen as soon as they pass from this life. Click here to download the Amitabha practice text.
White Tara practice promotes long life, peace, prosperity, and health, both for the practitioner and for others. White Tara was the primary deity practice of many well-known Buddhist scholars and Siddhas in both India and Tibet, foremost among them Nagarjuna and Atisha, as well as our own HE Garchen Rinpoche.
